Best Buy is connecting stores to a larger media system.

Printemps New York is programming two weeks of beauty experiences.

DC is designing how fans enter and participate at New York Comic Con.

The New Museum has turned an elevator button into part of an artwork.

These spaces depend on what the visitor does next.

THE STORE CONNECTS TO THE MEDIA SYSTEM

Best Buy has introduced a broader advertising business spanning connected television, creators, social platforms, measurement and physical stores.

Its stores are being positioned as activation hubs where customers can handle new technology and brands can create experiences around it.

The physical encounter does not end at the door. It can produce content, feed media campaigns and connect exposure to sales.

BEAUTY BECOMES A TWO-WEEK PROGRAM

Printemps New York’s Beauty Rendez-Vous runs from October 7 through October 21.

The schedule combines products with founder appearances, treatments, demonstrations and wellness rituals.

A department store visit becomes a series of appointments and encounters. The merchandise remains important, but programming gives people a reason to return.

THE CONVENTION DESIGNS THE WAIT

DC is expanding its presence at New York Comic Con with a larger booth, convention exclusives, signings, digital queuing and a 360-degree cosplay capture experience.

The digital queue changes how people enter. The capture setup changes what they take away and circulate afterward.

Both are part of the fan experience.

THE ELEVATOR ANSWERS BACK

Ho Tzu Nyen’s commission for the New Museum occupies the building’s glass-front elevators.

When visitors press the controls, AI-generated children appear with mantras, riddles and reflections about power.

The work does not need a separate room. It uses an action that every visitor already understands and turns it into an encounter.

THE SIGNAL

These projects depend on people doing something.

That behavior belongs in the creative brief from the beginning. The queue, prompt, camera, appointment and button are part of the idea.
